Objectives: Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is a commonly performed diagnostic procedure for evaluation of thyroid nodules. The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology comprises six categories. Bethesda categories I and III present a challenge for deciding on further diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
